The CEO's Desk: A Statement in Exotic Hardwood
A desk is the most personal piece of furniture in a home; it's a workspace, a creative station, and a reflection of personal style. I specialize in creating bespoke desks that are true one-of-a-kind statement pieces, moving far beyond mass-produced functionality. I believe a piece this central to your daily life deserves to be handcrafted with an unwavering commitment to the art of fine woodworking and built from the world's most beautiful materials.
This project is a masterclass in material artistry and complex fabrication. The foundation is a set of hand-shaped, solid Black Walnut legs that provide a sculptural base. The suspended drawer boxes are a stunning showcase of lamination, featuring alternating stripes of Black Walnut and Canadian Hard Maple. The drawer faces provide a dramatic pop of color, crafted from exotic Purple Heart with custom, hand-carved Maple pulls. Every element of this desk, from the initial sketch to the final assembly, was completely custom-fabricated in my workshop.
